The Chequer won this tournament for
the second year running with some fine passing football.
The standard of the
opposition and quality of football varied greatly on the
day, but The Chequer were worthy winners, playing the
best passing game on show. Chequer managed to score fifteen
goals and concede just five in the seven games they played.
Tom Pickford was the only player who
was also in last year's winning side, and probably just
edged Si Price and George Trafford out for our player
of the tournament. Thanks must go out
to all the players, including Aaron and Adam who spent
long stretches on the sidelines, and Richard Wilkie who
stood in impressively as goalkeeper for the tournament
after Matt Bailey withdrew the day before.
