| Chequer's
first official match of the season, after being deducted
three points last week, began with a reasonably comfortable
win against Ajax Kings Arms.
Player shortages saw
Sean Hourigan slot in at sweeper and Gareth Dutton in
Goal.
Ajax enjoyed long spells
of possession without threatening in the first half and
Chequer took a two goal advantage in at half time, thanks
to the first two goals of a fine individual hatrick from
Aaron Comber.
Within 30 seconds
of the second half starting, Aaron had completed his hatrick
with a very well taken run and finish. Chequer took their
foot off the pedal, and Ajax began to enjoy long spells
of possession, and looked more lively and threatening
up front. They were rewarded with a goal that had looked
likely on 75 minutes. The Chequer however, re-established
their three goal advantage inside three minutes, Tom Pickford
unleashing a 30 yard shot, that with the aid
of a deflection off Chris Duffett left Ajax's keeper no
chance, and the game finished 4-1.
